Yes. Your first session with any teacher on Kautuki is free, and you can do a free first session with more than one teacher before choosing.
Q.Can my child use Kautuki without booking a class?+
Yes. The video library, chapter notes, practice quizzes and their own notebook are open without booking anything, and an assignment can be sent to a verified teacher to be marked by hand. The self-study library page has the full list.
Q.What does a class cost after that?+
Whatever the teacher has set for that format, shown on their profile before you book. You pay per class — there is no package, subscription or deposit. See “Classes & fees” for typical ranges and a worked month.
Q.What does hand-verified actually mean?+
Identity, qualifications and background — each reviewed by a person on our team, not a script, before a profile goes live. The full marking scheme is in the verification section.
Q.Is my child safe in a class?+
Only verified adults can teach. Every session is recorded and parents can watch any recording back, and a teacher’s profile can be pulled immediately on a complaint.
Q.Will it work on my phone and network?+
Video uses adaptive bitrate so it keeps running on entry-level Android phones over 3G. On weak signal the class falls back to audio with a synced whiteboard instead of dropping.
Q.How do payments and refunds work?+
Payments are taken through Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking) when you book a slot, and the teacher is paid only after the class happens. Refunds follow our published refund policy.
Q.Which boards and subjects are covered?+
CBSE, ICSE and state boards, Class 6–12, in English or Hindi. The full subject list is on the subjects page, and it grows with demand — tell us what you need in the form.
Q.Where is our data stored?+
In Mumbai, on AWS ap-south-1. We handle personal data under the DPDP Act 2023, and you can read exactly what we keep in the privacy policy.
